Dan SETAN pun merasa takut

Ada seorang manusia yang bertemu dengan setan di waktu subuh. Entah bagaimana awalnya, akhirnya mereka berdua sepakat mengikat tali persahabatan. Ketika waktu subuh berakhir dan orang itu tidak mengerjakan shalat, maka setan pun sambil tersenyum bergumam, "Orang ini memang pantas menjadi sahabatku..!"

Begitu juga ketika waktu dzuhur orang ini tidak mengerjakan shalat, setan tersenyum lebar sambil membatin, " Rupanya inilah bakal teman sejatiku di akhirat nanti..!"

Ketika waktu ashar hampir habis tetapi temannya itu dilihatnya masih juga asik dengan kegiatannya, setan mulai terdiam......

Kemudian ketika datang waktunya magrib, temannya itu ternyata tidak shalat juga, maka setan nampak mulai gelisah, senyumnya sudah berubah menjadi kecut. Dari wajahnya nampak bahwa ia seolah-olah sedang mengingat-ngingat sesuatu.

Dan akhirnya ketika dilihatnya sahabatnya itu tidak juga mengerjakan shalat Isya, maka setan itu sangat panik. Ia rupanya tidak bisa menahan diri lagi, dihampirinya sahabatnya yang manusia itu sambil berkata dengan penuh ketakutan, "Wahai sobat, aku terpaksa memutuskan persahabatan kita !"
Dengan keheranan manusia ini bertanya, "Kenapa engkau ingkar janji bukankah baru tadi pagi kita berjanji akan menjadi sahabat ?".

Pemberontak, rebel......what's came up in your head when you hear this word?

Melawan orang tua? Drugs? Mabuk lalu menghajar orang? or mengganti dress-code mu mengikuti gaya band2 yang over-played di MTV?

Well, no matter what you do, esensi pemberontakan tidak akan pernah berubah.

A real rebellion stays under your skin. Bukan dari dandanan, machoism, tattoos, piercing or anorexic-look yang dibuat-buat. There's two kinds of rebel. Once you're a real rebel, kamu akan selalu jadi a rebel for most of your lifetime, tak akan bisa berubah coz that's who you are. It's in your blood. Kamu akan selalu berpikir utk melawan kecenderungan2 yang ada, kapan saja dimana saja.But when you're a wannabe-rebel [pemberontak tanpa misi dan prinsip yang jelas] kamu hanya akan memandang sebuah pemberontakan dari sisi luarnya aja [baca: fashion] Dan a wannabe-rebel tidak akan pernah membuat sejarah atau melahirkan pemikiran baru yang lebih baik utk generasinya.

Kita orang timur emang seringkali bingung mengadaptasi culture barat yang sedemikian liberalnya, dimana disini masyarakat kita diikat oleh tatanan atau norma yang kadang gak penting dan berlebihan. Masyarakat kita mencintai keseragaman dan kurang menghargai sosok2 idealis or individualis. Menjadi seorang rebel memang susah untuk hidup di Indonesia, for real, tapi disanalah letak art of the rebellion-nya. Sesuatu yang memerlukan pengorbanan karena masyarakat kita masih cenderung melihat sisi negatif dari seorang rebel [di cap sok kebarat-baratan dll]. Padahal menjadi rebel bukanlah hal yang 100% salah. Tergantung apa yang kamu lawan. Misalnya, kamu benci melihat sinetron2 Indonesia yang mewah, dangkal dan mudah ditebak, lalu kamu bikin sebuah film dokumenter ttg bagaimana sinetron2 tsb membodohi masyarakat kita yang mayoritas masih hidup dibawah garis kemiskinan. Itu sebuah pemberontakan yang pintar. Sebuah counter thd. komersialitas dan penyeragaman yang berlebihan.

A real rebel selalu berada diluar kecenderungan masyarakat, dan itu bukanlah pilihan yang salah, selama kamu bisa bertahan dan mempertanggung jawabkan misi dari pemberontakkan mu.

Harus diingat, kecenderungan di masyarakat atau di scene tidak selalu benar dan baik buat kita.

Contohnya ketika trend emo menyerang, remaja kota2 besar beramai-ramai menutupi rambutnya dgn poni dan bikin band emo dadakan, alasannya biar keliatan 'cool' dan diterima di pergaulan kota besar yang makin konsumtif. Hanya sebagian kecil dari remaja2 kita yang serius menyimak dan mengerti lirik band2 emo. Ironis. Padahal diasalnya, band2 tsb terbentuk karena mereka sering tersisih dalam pergaulan, dan musik yang mereka tulis adalah penegas kalau mereka adalah orang2 yang berada diluar kecenderungan/pergaulan. Disini, oleh sebagian besar remaja malah dipakai senjata utk kelihatan 'up to date' dan 'gaul'[damn, i hate that word!]. Same thing happens to punkrock and ska and maybe rockabilly in the future.. Misi pemberontakannya ditinggalkan, fashion-nya di obral habis2an. Dan menurut saya itu samasekali bukan pemberontakan.

Kalau saya umpamakan pemberontakan adalah struktur sebuah lagu/band, jadinya begini: pakaian yang dikenakan oleh personel band, jenis suara gitar, drum dan suara teriakan/nyanyian vokal adalah media penyampai pemberontakan, sedangkan isi dari pemberontakan itu sendiri ada pada lirik. Karena lirik berasal dari pemikiran yang paling dalam, ada pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Banyak orang yang bisa bermain skillful, tempo drum hebat, tehnik vokal diatas angin dan bergaya spt rockstar kebanyakan groupies yang mempunyai masalah kejiwaan [yea right...] tapi jarang bgt ada band Indonesia, apalagi yang terkenal, punya lirik berontak yang skaligus pintar. Ujung2nya paling keras bisanya menghujat pemerintah tanpa ngasi solusi yang jelas, yang buruh bangunan pun bisa melakukan itu sambil menghisap kretek terakhirnya. Jadi ya, percuma saja kalau ada band yang merasa sudah pemberontak hanya karena memakai kaos gambar tengkorak, tattoo or mohawk, distorsi maksimum dgn beat drum yang berat, tapi liriknya masih standar khas Indonesia [lirik cinta yang dangkal dan di klip harus ada model cantik dan ganteng lagi berantem] Seorang rebel akan menemui kesulitan men-support band2 spt itu. Lagipula, kenapa harus nyerah ama standar2 yang dibikin ama generasi sblm kita, apa kita tidak punya hak utk punya taste thd standar yang berbeda?

Sekarang try to think, kecenderungan apa aja yang ada di masyarakat kita yang kamu rasa mengganggu tidurmu. Ignorance is the real enemy. Kamu benci melihat budaya kekerasan yang semakin populer di masyarakat, lawan itu semua dan jangan ikut menjadi seperti mereka. Kamu kesal stiap kali melihat masyarakat dengan santainya membuang sampah plastik sembarangan, jadilah seorang pro-environment dan pengaruhi orang2 disekitarmu. Kamu gak tega melihat hewan2 dibunuh utk dimakan, jadilah seorang vegetarian dan daftarkan dirimu di peta2.com. Kamu bosan melihat budaya modern nan konsumtif anak muda yang manja dan kadang berlebihan, jadilah seorang berandal pasar barang bekas dan kenakan pakaian bekasmu dengan bangga dan stylish. Kamu merasa menyesal membeli majalah yang dipenuhi wajah2 infotainment ga penting, bikin dan cetaklah wajahmu sendiri. Bosan ama design kaos2 distro yang makin seragam dan cheesy, bikin clothing-line mu sendiri. Akan lebih baik jika kamu melakukan itu semua tanpa menjadi seorang fasis yang kaku. Just do your own thing.

See..banyak hal2 berontak yang bisa kamu lakukan di Indonesia tanpa harus merugikan orang lain dan malah bisa menguntungkan jika kamu bisa me-manage 'kenakalanmu'

Jadilah seorang counter-culture with a big heart, yang bertanggung jawab, respect thd keluarga, lingkungan dan bumi pertiwi. Dont judge us, musicians, by the way we look or the way we dress, coz these days, anyone can look so punk, so psycho, so emo, so rockabilly, so metal dalam hitungan detik. Zap! Just like that!

Jangan sampai terjebak menjadi seorang rebel bodoh yang hanya mengejar status sosial.

Surat Terbuka untuk Presiden SBY

Ini adalah surat pertama saya kepada Anda dan sesungguhnya saya ingin menulis surat kepada Anda setiap hari. Saya pernah membaca surat terbuka macam ini yang ditulis oleh kolumnis Art Buchwald yang jenaka ketika Richard Nixon menjadi Presiden Amerika Serikat. Waktu itu Buchwald mengatakan, ''Pak Presiden, dengan surat ini saya ingin menyampaikan kepada Anda bagaimana cara memimpin negara. Berbahagialah Anda karena saya tidak memungut biaya sama sekali untuk nasihat yang saya berikan, sebab saya merasa bahwa sudah menjadi tugas saya sebagai warga negara untuk membantu Presiden mengatasi pelbagai masalah yang muncul hari ini.''

Itu sikap yang baik dan, terus-terang, saya ingin menirunya. Karena itu, saya juga tidak akan memungut biaya atas apa yang saya sampaikan kepada Anda melalui surat ini.

Yang pertama, Pak Presiden, saya pikir sudah saatnya bagi Anda untuk berhenti memikirkan pencitraan diri. Sulitnya menjadi presiden yang terlalu menjaga citra adalah Anda bisa menjadi tampak lamban karenanya. Hal yang sama dialami oleh seorang perempuan yang terlalu menjaga penampilan. Namun, terlalu diam juga bisa merepotkan. Kita telah mengalami masa pemerintahan oleh presiden yang sepertinya mengamalkan petuah ''diam adalah emas'' dan Anda sendiri pernah melakukan pembelotan pada presiden yang seperti itu. Peristiwa tersebut menyebabkan Ibu Mega sampai hari ini terus menampakkan ketidaksukaannya terhadap Anda, bahkan sampai pada sikap dan kekeraskepalaan politik yang terasa tidak masuk akal. Tapi itu urusan Ibu Mega sendiri, bukan urusan bangsa ini.

Yang lebih perlu Anda perhatikan, Pak Presiden, rakyat sudah memilih Anda untuk kali kedua. Saran saya, sungguh-sungguhlah menjadi sahabat mereka. Ini saran yang serius, sebab beberapa waktu sebelum kampanye pemilihan presiden, saya membaca kisah Pak Mayar, seorang petani kecil di daerah Gunung Putri, Bogor. Dua hal dalam kisah itu sangat mengesankan saya. Pertama, Pak Tani itu punya nama yang bagus, ''Mayar''. Dalam bahasa Jawa berarti mudah (meskipun hidupnya sama sekali tidak mudah). Kedua, di rumah Pak Mayar ini Anda pernah mengadakan pertemuan untuk menggalang dukungan semasa kampanye pemilihan presiden yang pertama dulu.

Menurut apa yang saya baca, di rumah itu Anda menjanjikan tiga hal jika Anda terpilih menjadi presiden. Yaitu pengaspalan jalan, pembangunan sekolah, dan pengadaan saluran irigasi. Dan, akhirnya Anda menjadi presiden. Dua janji pertama terwujud, yang ketiga belum. Jalanan diaspal dan sebuah SMA dibangun, tetapi tak ada pembangunan saluran irigasi.

Dengan dua janji terpenuhi, setidaknya Anda bisa mengatakan bahwa Pak SBY tidak melupakan sama sekali janjinya. Namun, ada yang meleset di sini. Pemenuhan dua dari tiga janji itu ternyata nyaris tak ada manfaatnya bagi Pak Mayar dan orang-orang yang selevel dengannya. Jalanan beraspal hanya berfungsi semakin memperlancar proses pencaplokan tanah warga kepada orang-orang kaya dari kota. Mereka membeli lahan para petani dan membangun perumahan di sana. Sedangkan gedung SMA tak pernah bisa dimasuki karena terlalu mahal. Bahkan cucu Pak Mayar pun tak pernah bisa bersekolah di sana. Dan, berapa uang masuk yang dianggap terlalu mahal itu? ''Satu setengah juta rupiah,'' kata Pak Mayar. ''Saya tidak mampu menyediakan uang sebanyak itu.''

Mari kita akui bersama bahwa uang sejumlah itu memang sangat besar bagi sebagian besar rakyat di negeri ini. Sejumlah orang bahkan rela mati demi berebut uang derma Rp 20 ribu. Selanjutnya, mudah-mudahan tidak ada kemelesetan semacam itu lagi dalam upaya Anda memenuhi janji, dalam skala luas, bagi rakyat yang telah memilih Anda.

Terakhir, saya berharap Anda sigap merespons orang-orang yang saat ini menuntut Anda membuktikan jargon kampanye Anda ''menegakkan hukum tanpa pandang bulu''. Mereka sekarang meminta Anda bersikap tegas untuk mengamankan KPK, institusi yang telah memberikan kredit tersendiri pada citra positif pemerintahan Anda, dari upaya-upaya untuk melemahkan fungsinya.

Tentang hal-hal yang menyangkut upaya pelemahan KPK, saya ingin mengingatkan bahwa Anda harus mewaspadai omongan-omongan di belakang Anda. Ketika besan Anda, Aulia Pohan, dijadikan tersangka oleh KPK karena kasus korupsi, saya ingat pernah mendengar guyonan dari seorang teman, yang dekat dengan lingkaran Anda, bahwa tak boleh ada kejadian seperti ini. Katanya, kalau besan saja dijadikan tersangka, ''moral pasukan'' bisa runtuh, dong. Yang dimaksudkan pasukan di sini, Anda pasti tahu, adalah orang-orang yang berjejalan mendukung Anda --dengan dana, tenaga, maupun manuver politik. ''Harus dikasih peringatan KPK ini,'' kata teman saya itu.

Sekarang, dengan KPK dibikin sempoyongan seperti ini, saya tidak heran jika ada anggapan bahwa ''pasukan'' yang cemas itu sudah bergerak. Dan saya harus menyampaikan bahwa sikap diam Anda justru akan menguatkan anggapan itu. Apalagi kabarnya ada rekaman lain, saya baca di The Jakarta Post minggu lalu, yakni antara Susno Duadji, para jaksa, dan pejabat-pejabat lain yang menyebut-nyebut ''Blue Sky'' --konon itu nama sandi untuk Ibu Negara-- dalam percakapan telepon mereka mengenai Bank Century.

Saya tidak melarang Anda menjadi orang yang pemaaf. Tetapi jangan sering-sering memberi maaf untuk hal-hal yang tidak mendidik. Pemberian maaf kepada Ong Juliana Gunawan dan Anggodo Widjojo dalam kasus yang Anda sebut sendiri sebagai ''pencatutan nama'' sungguh merupakan tindakan yang bisa membuat pikiran semakin gelap. Kasus lain, saya tetap tidak habis pikir bagaimana Zaenal Maarif, yang membuat Anda marah dua atau tiga tahun lalu karena mengumbar omongan bahwa Anda sudah menikah dan punya anak ketika menjadi taruna Akabri, pada pemilu terakhir bisa banting setir menjadi kader dan caleg Partai Demokrat.

Sungguh saya tidak paham model rekrutmen politik di negeri ini. Terlalu banyak kutu di tubuh partai-partai dan mereka bisa meloncat-loncat dari satu partai ke partai lain dengan keringanan yang tak tertahankan. Kalau para kader partai saja tidak peduli dengan konten politik partai-partai mereka, sebetulnya rakyat disuruh memilih apa dalam pemilu?

Pak SBY, saya akan mengakhiri surat ini dengan kalimat menghibur yang menunjukkan bagaimana orang Amerika memandang kualitas presiden-presiden mereka. Penuturan anonim itu berbunyi begini: ''Roosevelt memberi bukti bahwa orang bisa menjadi presiden seumur hidup; Truman memberi bukti bahwa semua orang bisa menjadi presiden; dan Eisenhower memberi bukti bahwa kita tidak memerlukan presiden.''

Saya tidak ingin mengkopi frase terakhir dan mengganti nama Eisenhower dengan siapa pun nama presiden kita. Sesungguhnya yang saya inginkan adalah sebuah frase lain yang memberi bukti bahwa seorang presiden bisa benar-benar menjadi sahabat orang miskin.
